Teaching

My passion for teaching stems from prior work as a licensed K-12 teacher and has intensified during my graduate studies as the instructor for both undergraduate and graduate-level courses. I have been the instructor of record for two undergraduate-level courses: Introduction to Educational Technology, and Technology Enhanced Learning Environments. Based on my continuous success in teaching these two courses, I was later appointed as an instructional assistant for Instructional Design and as a co-instructor for Advanced Instructional Design–both graduate level courses.

My journey as a Teaching Assistant Professor at the Oklahoma State University has been beneficial and rewarding. I had the privilege of designing and implementing lessons and course materials tailored for pre-service teachers, with a strong focus on applications of educational technology and AI literacy.

Teaching Philosophy

Teaching has always played an important role in my life, from being a student sitting in different classrooms to becoming a teacher mentoring learners from a variety of backgrounds. To me, it is the opportunity to educate the next-generation that drives me to devote time and resources for this challenging yet rewarding profession. Influenced by my college professor Dr. Clark, who took an interest in me not just as a student or a member of her class, but as an individual human being who happened to be a learner in her classroom. She believes that all students, regardless of their cultural, academic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, have the ability to learn and succeed. If it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t be here today, becoming motivated to improve and to pursue an opportunity to support my students just like the way she did. Modeling is critical and it was from that experience that I realized I need to be a model in my own teaching, to help my students become successful. To this end, my role as an instructor and a mentor is to create a supportive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment that fosters students’ growth and development.
